I play a Sith Juggernaut as my main, and scouring the Internet for some Juggernaut, I got some gems for my Juggernaut homies of the oldrepublicordie , Darth Hater, and SWTOR FACE website, thought I would share, though I don’t agree with everything they say, I found some info useful. Enjoy!

I Let Them Live

Posted in MMORPG with tags , , on January 17, 2012 by theerivs

So on Nar Shadda, I had a chance to allow these republic troops a chance to live, and serve me at a later time. Which garnered me light points, which took me a step back in my goal to be pure evil, though I was stunned I did let them live, which so unlike me. I was doubly shocked, when they did actually play a part, and  glad they helped me defeat Darth Rathari later in my mission. .

I’m shocked at myself, but I came to the conclusion there is a difference between being evil, and being a lunatic, you need to know who to kill, and who will prove useful. That there is a difference between garnering power, and just being a psychopath cutting a swath through the galaxy, and leaving a pile of bodies in your wake.

This game continues to make me think about my choices, and some of them turn me on my head, and really make me think. It reminds me of those old “choose your own adventure books” where if I choose A, instead of B, it would of lead me down a different path, one that I may not like, or one that is really awesome.

The Republic troops who helped me, in my infinite mercy I let them live for their help with Rathari, and making me rethink what it means to be evil. Perhaps this is a new leaf for me, where I make better choices not just because I get dark side points, but because it’s more evil to pursue power, then it is to pursue lunacy.

On the other hand the aliens protecting the Revan’s Infinite Engine, all of them had to die they were hideous looking, and smung bantha poodoo…Ok maybe I am a psychopath.

I just kissed a sith, and I liked it

So there I was flirting with an NPC, then next thing you know I blacked out, and my lightsaber was out.  I think….did I…just have sex…. I was so excited, alas my girl friend was not so much when I screamed Darth Lathris instead of her name that night.

Seriously though I really love the inclusion of story, and the way quests are handled here, but the true test of a game is as we all know is end game. Though I have a long time to get there, will this game have the same appeal 3 years from now as it does now?  Is this the extended version of Tortage that was in AoC.

I’m starting to worry about tanking skills in this game, I really haven’t done any instances, but if I can’t keep aggro off my companion we may have a problem. Maybe I’ll do a couple lower level flashpoints just to give it a shot. This is what I hate about new games, I have to find most of this crap out for myself.

But for now, I’m enjoying the game and enjoying being the murderous bastard I always wanted to be, and screwing more Sith then Obi-wan.

Are Sith Evil?

Posted in MMORPG with tags , , on October 3, 2011 by theerivs

Evil is a point of view correct? So to the Sith they are the good guys, and the Jedi are evil. If you think the Sith are evil, why? Because they kill, Jedi kill people too.  Are they evil because they live by the rule of the strongest survives? Well then you might say a shark, or a lion is evil.

Why I Don’t Think Sith Are Evil.

1. Order – They want an ordered society with them at the top. That’s all I want out of life to.

2. Goal Oriented – Taking over the galaxy is a lofty goal indeed.

3. They Keep Their Promises  – Though they may alter the deals, and pray they do not alter them further.

4. Equal Opportunity Employers – When they hired bounty hunters, there was a lizard dude, and a robot.

5.  Great Sense of Humor – Come on when the Emperor told Luke, that “This battle station is fully operational” in Return of the Jedi, tell me that shit wasn’t funny right there.

6. Better Fashion Sense – Jedi and all their browns, bleh!

7.  They only kill people who get in their way – Sith can’t help it if you lack poor decision-making abilities.

8.  Family oriented – If Luke didn’t turn, then Darth would turn dear sister.

That’s not me Roleplaying

Posted in MMORPG with tags , , on August 16, 2011 by theerivs

Some one asked me, “Are you roleplaying a Sith?”  I replied, “No, I’m really an asshole in real life”  I’m probably the closest thing to being a Sith in real life that you can be, without actually being a Sith, Let me explain.

1. Only a Sith deals in absolutes.  – I am an idealist, as an idealist I have clear notions of good, and bad and other ideals. Sometimes with me there is no middle ground.

2. Peace is a lie – I have a tattoo of Chaos on my shoulder, and I always say there is no rest for the wicked.

3. Power Hungry – Why do you think I went into Computers, there is power there. People keep secrets on their computers, and phones. You have control over their secrets, you have power over them.

4. Evil is a point of view – Life is all about perception, and what is evil for you, may just be good for me. I also align myself with evil, because it allows you to be free, and to explore things being good doesn’t allow you to explore.

5. I am not a Hypocrite – Alot of people say they are good, and behind closed doors they do more depraved things, then I could even imagine.

6. Generous when it suits my purpose – I am a generous person when you are my good side, and a vicious monster when  you are on my bad side.  The Emperor helps Anakin Skywalker, and even revives him. Sure for his own purposes but he still saved the guys life.

7. I know the value of strength –  Being a big guy, and a bouncer giving a show of force, or strength sometimes wins the day. Through Strength, comes power.

Sure I’m not going to be walking all over the place slicing people down, but I’m sure as hell going to be doing that in game. Fear will be my ally.

Lords of the Lowlife

The Guild is Created

Peace is a lie. There is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strength, I gain power.
Through power, I gain victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.  ~ The Sith Code

Leadership

There will be one Grand Master, or Guild Leader. Then there will be four officer positions called Master Siths.

Challenge of Leadership

A member may challenge an officer, and take that officer spot. Once dueled, you can not challenge each other again for a month. Now the lost officer can challenge another officers position. Any officer who lost will be knocked down to member.

Now to challenge the Grand Master you must have a vote among the officers, 3 out of the 4 must say yes to the challenge. If the challenger fails to win, he is put on censure for 2 weeks, and not allowed to go on raids, or guild functions. If the Guild Master loses he gets knocked down to member, and also censured for 2 weeks. For the old Grand Master to challenge the new one, there must be another council vote to okay it.

There will be a Referee toon which will be of the actual rank of Guild Leader, and will oversee all these rules are applied.

Incentives to being the Ruling Class.

We will need incentives for the Sith to want to be an officer, like access to more guild bank space, a minor benefit to the loot system perhaps like a +1 to all rolls.

Objective

The Objective is to challenge ourselves, by fighting amongst ourselves. To rise above others, by making ourselves stronger. To make a more dynamic guild, one where no one’s job is safe.  To play the true Sith way.

Suggestions

Feel free to offer some up, and then apply to the guild.

A Real Sith Guild

Posted in MMORPG with tags , , , on March 16, 2011 by theerivs

Scary decided to fold shop of the Hill People, and I can’t blame him. Leading a guild takes hard work, dedication, and a thick skin.

I was thinking of a new model of guild for SWTOR. Well we play Sith, why not a guild if you think your current leadership is shitty, and that you can do a better job, have the ability to take that job.

A guild where if you want to be a guild leader, you challenge him to a duel. You win you are the new guild leader. If you lose you get knocked back to the lowest rank. If the guild leader loses he gets knocked down to a normal member. I envision this working for officer ranks as well. Of course there will be more rules, like level consideration, month lockouts between duels, etc.

I think it would add an extra dynamic to our game, and guild. Then again it might create some hatred as well, but hate makes you powerful.

I will be playing a Sith when Star Wars:The Old Republic comes out. I am excited because I enjoy the Sith as a faction, because let’s just say I believe in their mode of thinking. What I am hoping for in the upcoming MMO.

1. Immersion – Bioware are supposed to be some good story tellers. I think Immersion lets me feel part of the virtual world I am, and makes me feel like I’m making a difference. I remember back in Dark Ages of Camelot days stealing relics for our realm really made me feel apart of something. I wanted to wake up 3am on a Sunday to be a part of it. I think the Voice Acting will go a long way with this as well.

2. PvP – I enjoy PvP, and being a Sith means killing mofoes, so I want the fights, fast and furious like the movies. Whirling red blades of death cutting a swath through our foes.

3. Cool Fluff – Cool looking armor, lightsabers, vehicles, droids. etc..etc…

4. A Sense of Community – The game can not really do this, but I hope that a good Community does arise from this. Warhammer Online has a great community, and I would like that sense of it with this game as well. Back in the old Vanilla days of World of Warcraft the Horde had a great sense of Community as well.

5. No Roleplaying Rule Set Servers – I know, I know but a man can dream can’t he.

SW:TOR: Proud to be Sith.

DarthMaul%20obiwanDarth Hater posted this, and I thought how cool…this Dev is just like me. I feel very confident that the Sith Warrior won’t be a woosy.

Neil Pollner the Dev said….

“Think back to when you first watched Star Wars™: A New Hope™ — to the moment when Darth Vader enters the besieged Republic ship, surveying the carnage, single-mindedly hunting his target, Princess Leia. If you were like me, your eyes bulged and you thought, “I wanna be that guy.”

Now, maybe I was alone in that visceral response. Maybe it reveals something disturbing about me, I don’t know. On subsequent screenings, I seem to recall hearing a chorus of hisses and boos when Vader emerges. So maybe most of the Star Wars™ fan community are Luke lovers, or Solo sycophants . But something tells me there are more of me out there. And all these years, like me, you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to express your inner Vader.

Well, I’m here to tell you, our time has come.”

That sent a chill down my spine. I’m ready to grab my red lightsaber.

The Sith Code

Over at Gamespot they did a Q&Aat Bioware. And some of my brethren bloggers are divided on how they feel about this.

I think the biggest source of conflict is Sith being merciful, or doing acts of goodness. Since this is a class I am going to play, I find it interesting that it is more the one dimensional of killing.

I look at the code of Sith, and no where it says to kill everything in sight. Sure the methods are ruthless, and heavy handed. But Sith are not animals, nor are they barbaric.

Let us examine the Sith for a minute. The Sith are not mirror images of Jedi. Sometimes they are more similar to them then Jedi would like to admit.  The difference lies in how the Sith and Jedi attain their goals. The Sith like the Jedi are trying to attain perfection, through power, through victory. Victory over ones enemies, but not the wholesale devastation of everything around them. If Darth Sidious killed everything around him he would not have an empire to lead would he?

Why can’t I let someone live if they serve no purpose? Why can I not let one live, and show mercy if it fits into my plan to later use them to my benefit? Why can I not feed the young to make them earn my trust, and have them fight for me?  Good and Evil are a point of view. To a Sith’s view compassion is a tool to be used to achieve ones goals. Sure more then likely if you are an obstacle, your a dead man and there will be no compassion for you.  The ultimate goal of the Sith is to free oneself from restrictions, to be free through power, and strength.

In terms of this game, I am excited that Bioware is trying something different, and doesn’t want to make one dimensional characters to try to inject story into a MMORPG. The more I read about it, the more hyped I’m getting. Which I know I got burnedbefore.  In World of Warcraft I saw inkling of these types of things with the Death Knight quest line, I wish they went further, gave you more choice, and consequence.

I think if Bioware pulls off what they are telling us, I think were in for a great game.
