Every Party Needs a Pooper
Everyone is excited about the new Wrath of Heroes announcement, and I guess I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into it. I have to say I am not excited at all about it. I have some serious worries.
1. Taking players away from Warhammer Online – The serious PvP’ers on WAR will be gone, leaving the landscape even more barren.
2. No New Players in Warhammer Online – Why would a new player start from scratch, when they can hop into the action right away.
3. What happens if this is more popular then Warhammer Online? – Yeah WAR will be gone.
4. What does this mean for the MMO genre? – Are MMO’RPGs becoming a thing of the past, for the quick fix of play like League of Legends, and World of Tanks.
5. Where’s my Nurgle Champion? – Make this shit happen!

Overall this looks like a real interesting game, and I look forward to playing it, but it won’t take the place of my MMO diet. I like having some ownership over the toons I play. I like it when someone goes, “Hey look it’s Rivs….That Douchebag.”

These type of games are stupid to me. I would rather play WoW arenas and I hate WoW arenas

I’m still not sure about people leaving WAR for WoH..just 5 skills per hero with little things to tweak (like mastery spec etc.) is not the thing for me.. but on the other hand, it’s the thing people want… not too much to think about, no gear discrepancy..etc..
I will try WoH, but will surely not cancel my WAR sub because of it.
I’m still skeptical (optimistic) about WoH..but I’m skeptical about any new stuff announced nowadays.. it’s nothing out there to get me excited about it.

Your quote right there is exactly why people will still play WAR while also playing WoH. There will always be a place for both as they serve different functions. That’s one of the reasons I actually like what they did with this. Unlike with SWTOR where it is effectively killing off SWG by offering the same IP in an MMO, this offers simply a new type of game in the same IP.

Don’t make me bring out my WAR hate stick again……

I thought about (and blogged) about what this might mean for the future of both WAR and my newbie goblin squig herder. I rather enjoyed the relatively brief period of time that I spent in the warhammer online world, a lot more than my brief sting playing LOL, which seemed a vastly inferior gaming experience, but that’s just my humble opinion
